There I said it out loud for everyone to see & hear!
December 1st will be my 40th anniversary of self-employment in the financial services industry. I retired the first time in 2001 & went back to school, published a couple of books and did some traveling, but became bored and a friend said I ought to do Medicare work, so I’ve done that for ten years and continue to do so.
But, I’ve always wanted to be a professional speaker, to entertain, inform and educate on what I’ve learned in all of my years in business & life.
Now I’ve done it. They say you’ve become something when someone pays you for it. This year my speaking is starting to bring in income, after a lot of time, investment and giving my talk for free (over 50 & counting). I will continue to do the other things I do, but my focus will become more on speaking overtime.
I’m not sure that I will ever fully retire, those in my generation seem to keep reinventing ourselves in new ways, and if you love the work you do why not keep doing it?
So, with all of that said, I’m open for business as a speaker and invite you to visit my website (still a work in progress…aren’t they always?) and if you feel the need to hire me as a keynote for your next meeting, give me a call!
