If you’ve been following my blog the past six weeks you know that I had a skiing accident that resulted in fractures in both ankles. It’s been an arduous journey back to full recovery that is still forthcoming. But, learning how to use TRIP in my daily life has been such a perfect solution.
In our financial business lives utilizing both tenacity and resilience in difficult times can be a game changer. The financial markets have really been on a roller-coaster ride during the first month of 2022 with the huge increase in inflation, the worsening of the supply chain, international tensions in the Ukraine and Taiwan, ongoing COVID-19 and its variants, and tenuous job creation and employee retention challenges. Combined with the Fed’s upcoming program of rate increases to temper inflation the markets have a lot to brace for.
We have a rough year ahead with all of the aforementioned challenges to deal with. So how do we handle the stress, pressure, and constant change? With tenacity and resilience of course, what else did you expect me to say? LOL!
Both character traits give us the ability to be flexible but strong, creative but focused, energetic but realistic, and grounded in fundamentals that have served the industry well for decades.
People still need financial planning, estate planning, insurance, retirement plans, college plans, etc. The needs haven’t gone away because the markets are roiled. Invest for the long haul and plan accordingly for the ups and downs.
Being tenacious and resilient with both your team and clients provides solid leadership and communication in tough times that is rewarded with referral business, great testimonials, and successful annual reviews. Remember to always be tenacious in looking for the new, the innovative and visionary solutions that help the bounce of resilience to be successful. Keep your integrity high with ethical standards that are second to none. And always remember that the best way to communicate is with stories that people can relate to, to give them confidence in you and your plans. All of this will build a loyal and consistent following as you become more and more influential.
I hope this has given you a boost for a new month, remember to take a TRIP for a lifetime, not a trip of a lifetime!
In the end it’s one man’s opinion, mine.
