The Guy in The Mirror”
Where do you find inspiration? It’s a fair question that many of must answer regularly. Many of you could reply with:
· Music
· Motivational podcasts and speakers
· A respected family member or public figure
· Someone who has faced and conquered a life altering challenge
· Maybe it’s the “guy in the mirror”
Inspiration is where we find encouragement, enthusiasm, and motivation to move us off dead center and take action on our lives and goals.
Inspiration also comes from purpose. We can find revelations in our purpose that propel us to step outside our comfort zones and tackle a difficult challenge. Purpose helps us set expectations where we not only expect to reach a goal, but we look to what we will do when it’s achieved.
When you expect to have something go your way you work to make sure it does. There is power in your confidence and commitment that assures you of success. It may look a little different when you get there because of adjustments you made along the way, but if the outcome is as planned, you can claim success.
Inspiration can also come from your imagination. We often daydream and let our imagination run away with our thoughts because it’s fun and often fruitful. My imagination is one of my strongest traits and I’m grateful for it. I let it run loose to see where it will take me and how it might give me new ideas, concepts and ways to accomplish something new and fun.
Imagination, purpose, and inspiration go together very well complementing tenacity and resilience in the overall scheme of things.
These positive character traits are our strength and over time provide us with wisdom stemming from life experiences that taught us what works and what doesn’t. By relying on them, we grow as individuals. It’s in that growth that we become the “guy in the mirror” that we want to be and admire with self-love. Loving who you have become and trusting in your decisions comes with time and a lot of trial and error. It’s not an instant gratification result as much as we would like it to be.
If you make self-love a purpose and work toward it with tenacity, resilience, and imagination you will love the outcome. You will find fulfillment, freedom, and fun awaiting you.
Remember to take a TRIP for a lifetime, not a trip of a lifetime!
It’s just one man’s opinion…mine.
