Hi, this is Keith Renninson “The Tenacity Expert”
professional speaker & author of the award-winning book “Tenacity, You Don’t Have to Get Lost in Nepal to Find Yourself, But it Helps!” here with my next installment of my TRIP Tips for the financial services professional.
Remember that TRIP is an acronym for TENACITY, RESILIENCE, IMAGINATION, AND PURPOSE. So, let’s get started!
What is the bounce and how do you use it?
Let’s say your energy is at an all time low, you just lost a big case to a competitor and you want to re-energize yourself and your team. The metaphorical “bounce” is something you use to get everyone on-board to move forward once again. You could have a contest with other planners to boost sales and moral. You might plan to have a BBQ to celebrate a new beginning, a new action plan, a new idea, or a new purpose. Use this time to announce them and use the bounce to stir everyone to forge ahead, be resilient and excited once again. Get creative with a brainstorming session to discuss new ideas for logos, marketing solutions or different product approaches. Or, build a list of referrals to approach with a new video email.
There is a hidden positive energy in the bounce. It's not always obvious, you have to find it within yourself first and then your team. Be enthusiastic and make it fun! Encourage everyone with your leadership skills & high creative energy. Use your communication expertise to give hope to the troops after a hard fall. Be confident that success is just around the corner. Use the tried and true American ingenuity to bounce in the right direction and take action right away.
Resilience like Tenacity is a muscle that needs to be exercised to get stronger and more effective. Like the old adage says: "If at first you don't succeed, try, try, again!"
Never give up!
Well, that’s it for this installment, I hope you have some new ideas on how to proceed.
Remember to take a TRIP for a lifetime, not a trip of a lifetime.
See you next time, and in the meantime be resilient!
