TRIP TIP #13 “Be Grateful for Your Blessings!”

Hi, this is Keith Renninson “The Tenacity Expert”
professional speaker & author of the award-winning book “Tenacity, You Don’t Have to Get Lost in Nepal to Find Yourself, But it Helps!” here with my next installment of my TRIP Tips for the financial services professional.
Remember that TRIP is an acronym for TENACITY, RESILIENCE, IMAGINATION, AND PURPOSE. So, let’s get started!
Gratitude! An important word in all positive thinking.
Developing a list of the things we are grateful for often helps us see that we aren't as bad off as we thought. We have many everyday things that we take for granted like: good health, all our senses, food, clothing, love, companionship, jobs, friends, family, clean water, our many American freedoms and so much more.
There are a lot of approaches to this step being offered today, like keeping a gratitude journal and writing in it each day, putting a list of them on the refrigerator, making a gratitude list on 3X5 cards and looking at them during your day. Whatever you do, make it your own, something that you will stick with and use.
Being grateful is a resilient activity, it rebuilds shaky foundations, puts new air in the tires a spring to your step, and helps you reconnect with your spirit. Being grateful is also part of the happiness quotient, being happy for where you are, who you are, and what you have is so important, especially if you are trying to bounce back from a failure or unsuccessful campaign.
In your quiet time, sitting alone at home or on the way to work in the car, take three or four deep belly breaths to calm your mind and concentrate on what in your life makes you happy that you are grateful for. This exercise will start your day on a positive note. You will arrive at work with an attitude of gratitude
and ready to be of service to your clients.
Gratitude gives you a sense of purpose (another of my four words in TRIP) and that helps you build energy into your resilient attitude. If you've ever traveled the world you've seen economic conditions much worse than here in the States. You get a sense of humility and understanding for the plight of others around us. Having gratitude helps you see these things and appreciate our wonderful country and it's freedoms.
Well, that’s it for this installment, I hope you have some new ideas on how to proceed.
Remember to take a TRIP for a lifetime, not a trip of a lifetime.
See you next time, and in the meantime be grateful!
Keith......
