TRIP TIP # 19 “Use outside Influencers!”
Hi, this is Keith Renninson “The Tenacity Expert”
professional speaker & author of the award-winning book “Tenacity, You Don’t Have to Get Lost in Nepal to Find Yourself, But it Helps!”. I’m here with my next installment of my TRIP Tips for the financial services professional. Remember that TRIP is an acronym for TENACITY, RESILIENCE, IMAGINATION, AND PURPOSE. So lets get started!
One of the factors that made an impact on me early in my career was the day that we had a special guest speaker in our General Office. He was a man who lived in the northwest part of Colorado in a county that mainly consisted of farms and ranches, very low in population and commerce. This guy was a multi million-dollar producer year in and year out.
As he spoke about his prospecting, sales systems and office processes I knew that he was a well-organized man. He spoke for an hour and left a lasting impression on me as a rookie.
He shared with us how
he used his close personal relationship with his clients
to keep his overall clientele small, and yet, make multiple sales over time growing the base of products and trust through honest and frank communication. He openly talked about the hard subjects like estate planning and wills and trusts. He raised the minimum size of estates he'd work with and thus his commissions grew exponentially. I wanted to emulate him right off the bat and tried to copy his methods. Some things I could do quickly, others would take time and experience.
Bringing in someone new to speak, to motivate, to encourage your staff and you can be very motivating. Often a change of environment like a retreat or other venue
and activity can open the door to the creativity you need to bounce back with style. Additionally, think about going to the symphony, art museums, and sports games to get your staff involved. Use the time to meet and let the surroundings stimulate creativity to brainstorm and make your process more inclusive of new ideas. Invite your guest speaker to attend these events to spice them up and raise enthusiasm.
Well, that’s it for this installment, I hope you have some new ideas on how to proceed.
Remember to take a TRIP for a lifetime, not a trip of a lifetime.
See you next time, and in the meantime, be resilient, and use the bounce to your advantage with a new study group or mastermind!
Goodbye!
Keith......
